چکیده

Abstract Background The objectives of the current study are to evaluate traditionally used medicinal plants Andrographis paniculata for in vitro anti-malarial activity against human malarial parasite Plasmodium falciparum and further characterize active extract A. using spectroscopic chromatographic methods. Results chloroform displayed with IC 50 values 6.36 μg/ml 3D7 strain 5.24 K1 strains respectively no evidence significant cytotoxicity mammalian cell line (CC > 100 μg/ml). LC-MS analysis led identification 59 compounds based on their mass spectrometric features (a total 35 present positive ion 24 negative mode). We have identified 5 flavonoids 30 as diterpenoids mode, while mode all were diterpenoids. Characterization most promising class compound HPLC-LC-ESI-MS/MS was also undertaken. Conclusions results undoubtedly validate traditional use treatment malaria. from IGNTU_06 potential that need be purified analyzed drug development programs. Graphical abstract

Isolation and identification of bioactive compounds in Andrographis paniculata (Chuanxinlian)

Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees (Acanthaceae) is a medicinal plant used in many countries. Its major constituents are diterpenoids, flavonoids and polyphenols. Among the single compounds extracted from A. paniculata, andrographolide is the major one in terms of bioactive properties and abundance. Among the andrographolide analogues, 14-deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide is immunostimu...

Marine Diterpenoids as Potential Anti-Inflammatory Agents

The inflammatory response is a highly regulated process, and its dysregulation can lead to the establishment of chronic inflammation and, in some cases, to death. Inflammation is the cause of several diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel diseases, multiple sclerosis, and asthma. The search for agents inhibiting inflammation is a great challenge as the inflammatory respons...

Bisandrographolide from Andrographis paniculata activates TRPV4 channels.

Many transient receptor potential (TRP) channels are activated or blocked by various compounds found in plants; two prominent examples include the activation of TRPV1 channels by capsaicin and the activation of TRPM8 channels by menthol. We sought to identify additional plant compounds that are active on other types of TRP channels. We screened a library of extracts from 50 Chinese herbal plant...
